Week 9 Review

So after coming up with a system that would allow me to review the three experts predictions as well as mine I grabbed my calculator and started adding. I took one of the experts predictions and based off the players real life rank in week 9 I took the difference and added that with every player they predicted. For example; Brad Evans predicted Dez Bryant would be the number 1 WR last week and he was the 38th best. Therefore the difference between his prediction and real life performance is 37 (38-1=37). So I then went through and did this with each of the 25 WR's he predicted and was able to come up with a total difference in his predictions (this took about an hour). The lower the number the better the expert did at projecting for that position.

For the QB position here were the expert's scores (differences) as well as mine for our top 15 projections.
Tougias: 153
Funston: 168
Behrens: 164
Evans: 169

I had Foles ranked 13th when he came in 1st whereas the experts had him around 20th. Another prediction that I was spot on was Andrew Luck coming in with the 5th best score and I had him predicted at 6th. The experts (especially Evans) screwed up with projecting Brady to come in 20th when he came in 2nd. They were also putting Andy Dalton in there Top 10 when he came in 24th.
Advice: when looking at yahoo's experts projections, is to find a new website for QB rankings none of them did well.

For the RB position here were the expert's scores (differences) as well as mine for our top 25 projections.
Tougias: 364
Funston: 368
Behrens: 374
Evans: 340

Evans did much better at the RB position than he did at the QB postion. Like me he really liked Chris Johnson going into week 9 and had him projected as the 4th RB and he came in 1st. Advice: I strongly reccommend listening to Evans RB projections as he scored much lower than the rest of us.

For the WR position here were the expert's scores (differences) as well as mine for our top 25 projections.
Tougias: 531
Funston: 558
Behrens: 553
Evans: 543

I beat out these schmucks once again at the WR spot. My DeSean Jackson projection was pretty spot on as the experts didn't like him as much as I did. Vincent Jackson screwed the experts as Funston and Behrens both had him in there top 10. Advice: At this point Funston and Behrens are a lost cause. Just because they post for yahoo does not mean you should listen to them.

For the TE position here were the expert's scores (differences) as well as mine for our top 10 projections.
Tougias: 85
Funston: 93
Behrens: 86
Evans: 86

Piece of cake at this point. Funston went from being in the basement to literally underground scoring the worst of us again in the TE position. Antonio Gates proved his inconsistency yet again this week yet the experts all had him ranked in their top 4. Advice: Funston should look for a new job, whereas Evans has been consistently scoring fairly well.

For the K position here were the expert's scores (differences) as well as mine for our top 10 projections.
Tougias: 61
Funston: 72
Behrens: 70
Evans:  79

Are you looking at this yet Yahoo? 4 out 5 positions your college blogger is outperforming 3 of your paid fantasy football experts. Evans with a solid projection of Nick Novak being the #1 Kicker (he came in 22nd in scoring). Advice: Yahoo needs new writers, follow another website for fantasy football advice.

For the D position here were the expert's scores (differences) as well as mine for our top 10 projections.
Tougias: 115
Funston: 106
Behrens: 104
Evans: 117

Okay so I felt bad about embarrassing these guys and gave them the Defense category. Funston I guess knows something after all and should perhaps start his own blog where he only predicts Defense rankings.

Total Scores for all 6 categories.
Tougias: 1309
Funston: 1365
Behrens: 1351
Evans: 1334

Advice: If your not following this blog yet do so. I will help you go from being a fantasy pretender to a fantasy contender (I want 10% if you win your league though). But seriously based off these experts projections for week 9 I would advise looking elsewhere for fantasy advice. If you had the option of listening to Funston or a baby making fantasy projections, go with the baby. If you decide to settle for Yahoo then I would recommend listening to Brad Evans.

Your expert of the week.
